Photography: Rule of Thirds

One of my loves is photography, however its been a while since I pulled out the camera and took some decent photos. So I’m going to do a series of posts on getting my photography groove back.

This week we will start with the “Rule of Thirds” its a pretty simple rule, you break the image into thirds and place the focus of your image in one of these thirds. It’s not a law, but an option for composing your images.

Some sites worth reading about the Rule of Thirds:

Digital Photography School – https://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds/

Digital Trends – https://www.digitaltrends.com/photography/what-is-the-rule-of-thirds/ I really liked this one, it went into detail about when to use it and when not to and how to specifically use it on people and landscapes.

Below are some rule of thirds photos we took while enjoying a day down on the river with the kayaks.
